| | I have no other place to ask for help, so here it goes. I was banned on this mud, I can connect, but I can't make a new character, it says "Sorry new characters arent allowed from your site." But I never did anything wrong on this mud, I deleted my guy and quit for awhile do to personal problems. I heard someone say if they ban your area IP due to someone else it could ban yours up as well. Do you guys know how I can get past this problem? I can't get on the MUD to talk to any admins, but I found their mud building/testing area and asked an admin there about it. He told me it was a newbie ban, then he left. The address of the mud is bb8.betterbox.net and the PORt is 6666. | | Top |

| Probably they have had a nuisance player (not necessarily you), who keeps creating a new player once he is kicked off.
If he is using a dial-up modem (and you are too) then there is probably a whole range of IP addresses he could use, so they had to ban the lot. Sounds like you might be in the same range.
Or, if they are really annoyed, they might have banned all new players until this person goes away.
All I can suggest is either email them and ask them to create a character for you, or simply find another MUD.

| | I'm on a cable modem, could it have the same effect as a dial up? It's been banned over a year now, I've checked off and on, I didnt want to switch muds cause i knew this one pretty well, but it seems I may have no choice. Have any suggestions? | | Top |

| | Is there a way to temporarily change whatever address they blocked me from or would it not matter since it's most likely an area ban? | | Top |

| | If it is a MUD, then it should be listed on www.themudconnector.com or have its own homepage. Every MUD on TMC has an admin email. Their homepage should also have an admin email, if they put one there. Either way, you should be able to find out the admins email. Email them, and request for your IP to be unbanned. |

I guess it's under new management or something, because that guy's email doesnt even connect to anything anymore. | | Top |
