| Program, youre meaning codebase. And it depends on what you want to do. There are a few different types of text based M*'s depending on what youre looking for, and how you want to impliment it will determine whats best for you.
And, How do you intend on running a mud without a server? Youre going to have to run it somewhere, whether thats from your home machine, or whatever, if you plan on having more than one person on it, you'll need to let other people connect. |

| | You need to run it on your own machine then with cygwin for instance. But I warn you, it's rather complex for non-developers to get it to work. Nick has a good guide for installing and running cygwin on his website somewhere; I would suggest following those instructions. It's the closest you can get to emulating a unix environment. |

| ok i read the txt on cygwin and i looked at some other things even the help area and it runs in loops, first i see that the smaug code is already compiled but doesnt tell me how to run the server using cygwin to test it,
then it tells me to compile the smaug code then run it but that only arises to more problems in the code itself which i have not modded,, | | Top |
