Heya, new poster but i've checked out your site a bit. Just getting into the whole MUD creation scene. Been a MUDder for a long time though.

Anyways...

So i opened the program, and just added an area, and went to save the file [as I always do to start things off]. Problem is, when I saved it, I got an error and had to just end the program [you know, the "send error" or "end" window].

Is this software not supposed to be used in WinXP? Is it a linux program? Any ideas why it's just crashing?

It works in Windows.

Does this happen with any area?

I am using XP and I created a new area and saved it OK.

What version of the Area Editor are you using?

Did you add anything at all before saving it?

I just reinstalled windows with SP3.

1. Open Program
2. New area
3. Save As SF.are

then it crashes during the save. The SF file is there, but if i go back in and add anything and save again, it doesn't save that info.

I can't copy/paste the error report unfortunately. Let me know if you have any ideas or if you need something specific from the error report.

Oh, and i'm using 1.34.

Huh.. it just started saving correctly for no reason.

Alright then.. by the way, how would I use version 1.35? do i need t compile it myself? is ther any benefit to using it over 1.34?

Edit: Ok here's the fix:

I basically had to open your sample "manor" file, and then the program ran normally. Until I opened it, the program consistently provided an error message.

Version 1.35 is just the source code with the spellchecker removed for licensing reasons. So no, I would stick with 1.34.
