| Hello Mr. Gammon. I've come across an article about your G-Pascal software. I've been trying to determine if there are options to program the old mc6800 processor in something other than assembly. Are you aware of any such tools for this old processor? Thanks so much!

| Do you mean the actual chip, or emulated?
I think the binary file is around somewhere for G-Pascal for the Commodore 64 (although that's the 6502 I think). |

| Thank you for the reply. Yes, G-Pascal was for the 6502 but one of the articles I read indicated that it started with the 6800. I just thought I'd reach out to see what you may have kept over the years. Thank you again for taking the time to respond... it's a real honor to communicate with you.

| I have probably (possibly?) got the old 5.25 inch disk with it on it. Quite likely it isn't readable and I don't have any way of copying it.
If I may suggest, the Arduino is conceptually similar, and you can buy them today for around $30. Also you can program them in C++.
I am pretty active on the Arduino forum, in a sense it is "retro" in that the things we are doing on that are similar to what we used to do on the 6800.
8-bit processor, limited RAM, limited programmable memory, limited I/O ports. But it's a heap of fun! |
