Hi,

since I installed Mushclient Version 4.21 I get the following message when starting the program:

MUSHclient
Failed to load resources file: C:\Programme\MUSHclient\locale\DE.dll - trying English file
OK

I tried to install a earlier version of the program hoping to fix this, but the message also appears with version 4.20 and 4.18.

I am quite sure that I had version 4.18 on my PC before installing 4.21, but I didn't get the above message before trying 4.21.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Regards
Sarah

I had the same error message with 4.19.
Fast repair: copy the EN.dll in the Mushclient directory to DE.dll.

For the full explanation search here:

(the pages explain more about the subject)

I don't quite understand why you should suddenly get that message. I am guessing you installed into a different directory (not on top of an earlier installation), and that you also changed the locale (eg. EN to DE) in Global Preferences.

The default should be to assume English unless changed, however maybe it is auto-detecting the German locale and then not finding the DE.DLL file.

I have amended the instructions in the announcement for version 4.21 to do what StuDraKi suggested - make a copy of the EN.DLL file to be DE.DLL.

Another approach is to go into the File menu -> Global Preferences -> General, and change the "locale code" back to EN.

Hi,

no, I didn't install in a different folder as before. I installed the new verision on top of the old one.
And I looked in my global preferences, the local code is en. But I'll try to change the .dll-file and hope it helps.

Thanks and regards

Hmmmm - looks like I'll have to take a closer look. I didn't think the last few versions changed anything to do with the locale processing.

Did you uninstall and then reinstall, or simply install the new version (without uninstalling the old one)?

Hi,

first I installed the new version without removing the old one.
Afterwards I tryed removing and reinstalling hoping that this would fix the problem, but I got the error in both cases.

Hi,

seeing your comments I made some tests with version 4.20:
- in the global preferences I switched to FR
(which is also not existing)
- then I deleted the DE.dll created by me
- and switched to EN
- closed and reopened it, and it was working
without error message and in English.

and I'm sure that I've tried to switch to EN the first time I had that error. But maybe it has to be changed from EN
to something other and then back to EN to get it to work.
Or like above once there was the DE.dll file and now it's ok with the english setting??
