| Hello. I have no idea why, but sometimes my fingers slip and I randomly hit some keys. I'm thinking it's CTRL+something or SHIFT+something, because whenever I do it, my laptop keyboard randomly shifts to a Dvorak layout for MUSHclient ONLY. I know how to manually change this from the Control Panel for the entire keyboard, but after MUSHclient switches to Dvorak, when I check in the control panel, it says I'm still using US English. The change only occurs for MUSHclient, when I try typing into a Notepad, my browser (Opera), or any other application, it types in US English. I'm running on a ThinkPad T40, and nothing on it indicates any kind of keystroke will transition to Dvorak. Is this something on MUSHclient's end, or my laptop? | Top |

| IIRC, alt-shift will change keyboard layouts, but only between pre-configured layouts (it's possible your laptop came with Dvorak pre-configured as an option?). |

| YES, David is right.
In most regional settings it is ALT-SHIFT. And this is only switch the CURRENT application.
There is a possibility within system settings->regional settings to configure this switch, or like I prefer: to confgure to no keys and deactivate this switch. And if you need this language switch for whatever reason you can activate a symbol within the task bar showing, which setting is currently active. | Top |

| There is no code within MUSHclient that I am aware of to switch keyboards, for one thing I never use Dvorak, and this is really a system setting, not something individual programs should need to implement. |

| It's part of the Advanced Text Services in WindowsXP/Vista and afaik it's implemented as part of the text editor MFC controls, same as the CTRL+SHIFT ltr/rtl text entry switch that someone else complained about a while ago. | Top |

| Yes, it's part of Windows and as often called Regional Settings since Windows 95,98,2000 and XP. Don't know about vista. And the keys are active for all application, but it is switching the keyboard layout for each application indivually. As soon as you have multilanguage support on your installation-CD (or the computer vendor installing it) this key is autmatically activated. | Top |
