I used the Smaug1.4a that comes with the .exe already compiled and ready to go. It is running for me and I can get on through the local server 127...etc. I play and everything is fine but no one I invite can join me.

I've done this in the past and never had a problem i'm using Windows Vista now and I have turned off all my security devices that I know but can't seem to get others in here.

What am I missing?

You probably need to "port forward" from your router to your PC.

http://www.portforward.com/

So, for example, if your PC is running on 192.168.0.22 on your private network (internally to your home) on port 4000, then you need to configure the router to "forward" incoming connections on port 4000 to 192.168.0.22.

I'm not sure on what to add to port forward, like on my router you have to select a service or add a custom service, the services they have listed are like games and instant messengers, I'm totally dumbfounded on this. Does this make any sense? Lol I must be thinking to hard or something. Any advice would be helpful.

Those would select pre-defined ports, you want the area where you can define a specific port.

Ok so I found out how to do it.
