| I don't believe so. When I wrote the Area Editor the area files were really obscure to edit. Recent versions of Smaug have made them much more readable. However it isn't compatible with those new versions.
According to http://www.gammon.com.au/smaugeditor/smaugeditor.htm the latest version it supports is Smaug 1.4a. |
