searched the forum and came across this topic: http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/bbshowpost.php?id=11514

Is there a solution to this? I also seem to lose the protocol negotiation after a hotboot. Is this common and are there extra instructions that are needed?

hotboot.c and hotboot.h

I can't help you personally, I never looked into how hotboot worked. You could try asking on the SmaugFUSS site.
