| So ive been using mushclient for 25 years, mostly problem free(love it).
Recently ive had 1 small issue that is a little annoying.
So at home on my home internet(great connection), no problem connecting to a mud. At work(choppy internet), no problem connecting. Mobile hotspot via my phone(great connection), wont connect via mushclient.
Now on my mobile hotspot(from my phone, metropcs) im having an issue. Reason that i post here is cause i think its client related.
So i can connect to a mud via telnet and browser based clients on my hotspot through my laptop, but i cannot on mushclient. My previous phone had no problem with connecting in any form(same laptop, different phone), but my newer phone(about 1 year old), has never been able to connect via mushclient to any muds. my phone WILL connect to the mud via blowtorch(if that matters at all).
i am thoroughly stumped, but i will admit i am not very savvy with networks and whatnot.
the fact that telnet WILL connect via mobile hotspot but not mushclient leads me to believe maybe something is up on the mushclient side of things.
can anyone shed some light on things for me?
thanks,
steve
PS- msg i get is the standard connection timed out msg.
Unable to connect to "dbe", code = 10060 (Connection timed out) | Top |

| Interesting. My immediate thought is that you have somehow triggered the firewall on your laptop. I would go down that path myself. Maybe disable it for a couple of minutes and see if that resolves the issue. If so, add MUSHclient as an allowed app. |

| im using windows 10 home on my laptop
i also thought that it was firewall based, but the first thing i did when i got this laptop long ago was turn the ENTIRE firewall(the windows security center) off completely.
whether the firewall was on or off, ive never been able to connect. like i said, telnet connects via that hotspot just fine, but just not mushclient.
i know this really isnt much to go on, and its not the end of the world if it doesnt get resolved. but i just thought id ask and see if there was a fix or anyone having a similar problem... albeit i know this is a very specific issue.
i dont know squat about this stuff so im just reaching around in the dark here. | Top |

Once you get the error message, see if the IP address of the MUD has been resolved in the configuration "Info" tab. |
