| The mud I usually play on has recently asked the players to help reduce bandwidth through the use of MCCP. When I went to the page (http://www.randomly.org/projects/MCCP/clients.html) I noticed that MUSHclient was listed as a client that supported the MCCP protocol. I double checked the MUSHclient compression helpfile and checked that disable compression was not checked. However, the mud implements code that checks to see who is using compression and I was not listed. I have since set up and am using a proxy mcclient program (and with the proxy the mud recognizes the compression).
I would like to know if there is some other step within MUSHclient that I need to take to have a fully functional compression without the use of mcclient. Or if there is some way for me to indicate to the implementor of the game that MUSHclient is actually compressing information although the mud does not indicate that it is.
Thank you,

| I am this very day adding MCCP version 2 support to MUSHclient. Also, there was a bug in MUSHclient (3.04) where it didn't properly negotiate MCCP version 1 under some circumstances.
This new version (3.05) should be released in the next couple of days, and your problem should then go away.
So I can test in advance of releasing it, can you please post the address of the MUD you are trying to use it with?
Thanks. |

| Version 3.05 seems to work there fine. Look at the "Info" tab on the world configuration screen, and you can see, once you have supplied your name, that it shows "MCCP v 2" on the line where it says "Compression Ratio".
