how do you give a herb an attribute, like armor or healing. It doesn't seem to be in herbedit, is it part of the whole mixedit function, then? And what is not comple with the mixedit system? Can I create objects and let players mix them to create a new object?

The finished mistures are what give herbalism mixtures their affects and whatnot. As far as unfinished features, the basic herbal and alchemy mixtures should work without modification. The cooking and um, I think its brewing, features will need a container type written in to support their mixture components unless you just want ppl cooking in a cauldron :) There's another type that will need an object container as well but I dont have the editor in front of me to check all of them.

Thank you.

Do you know if the blacksmithing and pottery and tinkering mixes are finished, codewise? Can I just make up new mixture for them?

Yes you can create mixtures for them, they'll just have to be combined in either a cauldron or mortar/pestle. If you want something like a forge you'll need to expand the code and write a new otype to support it.

Couldn't i just create a cauldron object and name it a forge? I know that sounds cheap, but wouldn't it work?
