| You could try the precompiled version, the only downside is that you can't make any code changes to it. Alternatively, you'll want to install cygwin (or another linux emulation of some sort) to be able to use SmaugFUSS but it is set up to be able to work under Cygwin under Windows, including Vista as far as I know at this point. |

| I don't use cygwin myself (I self-host in linux) so I may not be the best person to address this, but I'll give it a shot. You should be able to cd to the src folder and start the mud by using the startup script, failing that, you should at least be able to cd to the areas folder and start the mud by typing ../src/smaug.exe
Perhaps I should be asking what sort of error you get when you try to start up the mud or what you're doing to try to start it.. or even why you feel that it's not starting? |
