It doesn't look particularly chopped to me. Can you explain what you mean? The colours?

Or do you mean the "info bar" right at the bottom?

Ah OK you mean the info bar, I see.

Try another font? Some of the Wine fonts don't render very well.

Download winetricks, as noted http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks

Then, open a terminal and cd to the downloads directory, or wherever you saved winetricks at.

chmod +x winetricks

Then, type sh ./winetricks

When the dialog pops up, check the marks corefonts, fontfix and tahoma fonts.Click ok, let it install and then restart wine. Close all apps, and logout/log back in should do the trick.

I'm not an expert but that info bar definately isn't in english, that's Greek. Maybe that explains why it looks so crappy?

It's just the symbol font, the words appear to be in English.

An alternative to using the Info bar these days is to set up a small miniwindow and then you can put it where ever you want, make it whatever size you want, and so on.

I would but I have no idea where the info bar is being fed this information. Plus it's Vb-script. I wonder if that may be the problem. Does wine have any problem reading Vb?

If it is doing anything other than giving an error message (and I count putting some sort of text in the bar as doing something), then VBscript is working OK.

Have you tried the suggestion of installing the Wine fonts?

What plugin or script are you using? There may be an alternative these days that works better.
