i get these three bugs when i start the server.

[*****] BUG: fread_word: EOF encountered on read.


[*****] BUG: fread_number: EOF encountered on read.


[*****] BUG: fread_to_eol: EOF encountered on read.

In the "gods" directory is a file called "empty".

Delete that and the problem will go away. The file is necessary otherwise WinZip doesn't create the directory "gods" and then SMAUG crashes.

As for the maximum level, you need to recompile. You need to download the source and compile. I suggest using Microsoft Visual C++, or Cygwin (which is free), however I think we recently got it to compile under Borland C++ which is also free.
