| Okay, the FussSmaug I downloaded and compiled...all the src and system files seem to be jumbled, unreadable at best. Anyone have a direct link to maybe a less jumbled FussSmaug? Something similiar to the original smaug with all the src files easily readable. Thanks. | Top |

| It's not the files that are jumbled, it's just that they show up incredibly bad in Notepad sometimes. Try using "metapad" which you can download free (don't have the link) from several places.
That or try opening them in Wordpad if you must, that also seems to work just fine.
Again, notepad sometimes has issues, but it's probably that and nothing more. I doubt the source is actually jumbled up.

| Notepad has >horrible< word wrapping problems. Either that or you're trying to view the .o files.. which are the compiled source code.. if so you want to edit the .c files, not the .o.
If you're using a host i'd recommend WinSCP which has a built-in editor, if on your own computer just use word pad.. small program, comes with some windows installations, and doesn't have so many features that your code ends up being marked incorrect grammar everywhere lol. |

| Personally I use UltraEdit. It's nice, although it's only a trial. Gotta buy it. |

| Metapad - www.liquidninja.com (fits on a floppy)
I prefer Textpad (Satsui gave link) for code editing because it can actually recognize proper syntax when you configure it to edit code. Metapad is pretty much my defacto notepad replacement though because MS wordpad and notepad both just suck so horribly for coding. |

| Crimson Editor works wonders for modifing. It'll read the files without the wrap issue, plus its color coded, and tabed. The installation .exe file will fit on a diskette, too.
just so you know, Google Smaug FUSS with send oyu to the site, and 1.6 is the newest version, incase you want to know | Top |
