I was looking to add Intermud support to my codebase.

Being a thorough bastard that I am, I was thinking of adding Aberchat, IMC2 and I3 support.

However, the only client code for Aberchat offers no instructions at all. Is there a snippet to add Aberchat support, and should I bother?

Does anyone use the protocol at all anymore?

I was working on an Aberchat snippet for Smaug that was more up to date than the one that currently exists. I never got the chance to properly test it though since I could never get ahold of anyone who runs the network. So the code is laying here dormant somewhere.

There are still people using Aberchat but I don't know what the usage stats are since there's no publically available mudlist to look at.

If you or anyone else wants the code, I can link it somewhere but it would be with the understanding that I don't plan to support it at all.

I wouldn't mind taking a lot at it, if you don't mind.

How weird. I had just seen something about Aberchat somewhere and wondered what that was about. That said, I wouldn't mind taking a look at it sometime either.

The instructions might be a bit sparse, but should be easy enough to follow. I took a quick peak at the code and it looks like I expended some effort to get the code hooks to follow the same placement as the IMC2 code.

Remember, I'm not offering support for this bit of code, and it's not been tested yet on a living Aberchat system.
