Just wondering if MUSHclient is still being actively developed or if the version from Feb 2017 is the last one. Are there any major bugs with that version or is it safe to upgrade to it as a final version?

On the announcements page for MUSHclient is a link to pre-release versions of 5.06. The latest one of those was on 30 November 2018.
I don't think there are any known problems with that one, so I would upgrade to that if I were you. At present I am mainly doing bug fixes or adding minor features on request.
