Noob Question

How do you make it so your commands stay in the input after being entered?

I have been using MUSH for years, I've mastered triggers, aliases, scripting... But for the life of me I can not figure out how to do this. I know it's possible because when I first started using MUSH my friend set it up that way on my old computer. I recentally installed MUSH on my new computer and can't figure out how he did it.

I am aware of just how pitifully noobish this question is. I apologize for having to ask it at all, but I've looked in all the help files and haven't found an answer.

Thank you very much for your help, but that's not quite what I was asking.

The question isn't very clear... I want after I enter commands for them to still be in the command area, only they are highlighted. It makes things so much easier in the mud I play. I know it's possible, I just don't know how and the only person I know who did passed away.
