Copy races.txt into the DOT/system directory

In the intructions detailed on the following page -for setting up DoT (step 6),

http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/bbshowpost.php?bbsubject_id=793

I didn't find races.txt on the download site, but I did find it already in one of the directories I'd downloaded.

I moved it from there over to the systems directory. And when I got there I found that a races.txt already existed. The only difference between them was their size.

I went ahead and replaced the old one with the new (larger) one. Is this correct, or did I mess up?

You're probably ok still :) The only difference is that the larger file you used has more races in it. If and when you start your server up yourself, you'll likely want to make your own unique races that inhabit your world anyways. This is just a starting point, that's why all the race editors have been coded, so that you can customize to your heart's content.
