I've never really understood how they change their classes and races work. I have found by experiment that you seem to need one more than is actually shown when you log in. So, try adding a "dummy" one to the end of the list.

Hi,

Actualy, I think the problem is because the classes are limited to certain races. So even if you only have 4 classes, but one can't be Troll, or Ogre, it will only show you the choices you have left. At least that is what my problem was anyway.

Hope that helps you some.

Chris,

To fix your problem,

Just change all of the race files to refect the following:

Classes 512

Basically what that does is remove all of the class restrictions from all of your races.

Also make sure your Race and Class numbers (the ones in the actual race and class files ex. human.race) all start with 0 and increment in the order you want.

ex

Humans race # is 0
Elf race # is 1....

Do the same with the class files and make sure you arnt duplicating any numbers.

That should fix your problem.

Also... very important... assuming you are running smaug you will need to change the CLASS_FIGHTER,CLASS_THIEF,CLASS_MAGE, ect... to reflect the new class numbers that you are using for each class.

Hope this helps,

Kelsid

See the topic "unable to select Paladin" for the real fix. If you apply that fix, and it still doesn't work, then the error is in the race files (set classes to 512).
